Hostel, DPS Faridabad

The essence of the DPS ethos is reflected in the school motto 'Service Before Self'. Hostel, a miniature society helps the child to develop all the qualities of the head and heart in such a way that the child becomes successful in all walks of life. The DPS, Faridabad hostellers move out after 10+2 as young blossoming adults with the academic expertise, social skills and compassion to become leaders of tomorrow and opens horizons hitherto unknown.

Infrastructure of the Hostel :
Campus :
·        The Hostel facility has been made available to the outstation students since 2004. The beautifully constructed building is housed within the main school campus. Equipped with state of the art infrastructure; it ensures international standards of modern living. The hostel has the capacity to accommodate 80 boys and 48 girls. The selection of the hostellers is strictly on the basis of merit. Their supervision is efficiently done by two wardens – male and female, who serve as surrogate parents. They reside on the hostel premises and keep a close watch on the children.

·        There are single unit, twin sharing, and 3-4 bedded rooms. They are installed with air-conditioning system, box-beds, cupboards and study tables. The bathrooms are equipped with modern fittings including geysers.

·        There is a provision of a Common Room, replete with the facilities like Newspaper, Magazines, Television, DVD, Music System, Computer and Indoor games.

·        The hostel has also been provided with air conditioned Gym equipped with treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers etc.


Sport :
·        The hostellers avail some of the finest facilities for sports at the Sports Complex, where they can play games of their choice under the supervision of expert coaches. Special arrangements have been made to train girl hostellers in self defense by Martial Art Expert to enhance their confidence in all walks of life.

 Mess :

·        Hygienically maintained mess serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food which is supervised by cordial staff.


Medical Facility :
·        There is a well equipped clinic on the premises, which is under the charge of an experienced Doctor assisted by two nurses during the school hours and doctor on call after school. First aid and ambulance is available round the clock. We avail services at Sarvodaya multispecialty hospital, which is only 1 km. away as and when required.

Enrichment Classes :
·        The primary aim of the hostel is to provide academic excellence to the hostellers. So, to meet the Scholastic needs of the students, Enrichment classes are conducted by the best faculty after the school hours, within the hostel premises on the request of the hostellers on payment basis.

Excursions :
·        Hostellers also enjoy the privilege of visiting multiplexes, amusement parks, historical buildings twice a month accompanied by the hostel wardens.

·        Annual outstation trip to famous tourist destinations are also arranged.

Annual Events :

·        Annual events like Fresher's Party and the Hostel Farewell are organized with  great zeal and zest which serves as an ice-breaking session for the Juniors and Seniors and leads to a special bonding of love, care and respect for each other.

Inculcating Leadership qualities :
·        To enhance leadership and management skills among the hostellers a Head Boy and a Head Girl are appointed who serves as peer leaders for the children.

Hostel Rules and Regulations

General :

·        Hostellers follow the daily routine of the hostel and school, unless exempted on medical grounds on recommendation of the Hostel Warden/Medical Officer.
·        Hostellers are not allowed to stay in the rooms during school hours/games/activity/study periods.
·        No day-scholar can enter the hostel without permission.
·        Hostellers are not allowed to keep medicines/tonics without the knowledge of the Hostel Warden/Medical Officer.
·        Hostellers are not allowed to keep Mobile Phones. It is strictly prohibited. In case, it is found it is confiscated and fine is charged.
·        Electrical appliances are strictly prohibited.
·        Night Roll Call / Attendance is taken at 10.00 p.m.
·        Hostel is closed during Long breaks (Summer vacation, Diwali break and Winter break). The parents/local guardian collects the child from the School Hostel and make arrangements for his/her travel.            All hostellers return to the hostel a day before the school re-opens.
·        Examination reports are sent to the parents by the Hostel Warden
·        Violation of Hostel / School rules leads to disciplinary action against the offenders as per the school rules.

Leave Rules :

·        Students are allowed to visit their local guardians once a month during the weekend through the system of Gate Pass issued to them by the Hostel Warden duly signed & dated.

·        Students may be collected for the assigned week-end by their local guardians on Friday between 2.00 p.m. & 6.00 p.m. they must report back to the hostel on Sunday by 6.00 p.m.

·        When long leave is taken during working days or students are unable to return on time after a weekend, leave letters should be sent to the Warden as well as the class teacher by the local guardian               within 24 hrs.

Telephone Calls :
·        Hostel provides incoming phone facility to the students, for Smooth Communication with Parents/Guardians. The students are allowed three incoming calls a week.

Visitors and Visiting Hours :
·        Parents and Local guardian may visit their wards only on 2nd & 4th Friday, Saturday and Public Holidays; between 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Saturday and 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Friday.
·        No visitor will be allowed after 6.00 p.m.

Study Hours :
·        All hostellers are required to study in their respective rooms/study room during the following hours under the supervision of the wardens :
·        2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
·        6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
·        9.30 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.

Admission :

Admission is conducted at two levels – Firstly, an entrance test is conducted, next shortlisted students are called for an interview at the school. Registration Form for admissions are available at School Fee Counter. Hostellers are admitted from Class VI onwards.
